WK Butter Wings Part III - Veggie Side Dish

I'm a carnivore. There's no denying it. I love meat. But I want to eat more vegetables. Really I do. The problem is, I am VERY selective of my vegetables. With only about 5 constants, it makes it difficult.
I'm also getting older, my palette is changing somewhat, and following Manic Pandemic's example, decided to test some old waters that I haven't in a while. So while at St Lawrence Market I got some green beans. Green Beans? WTF? I know, but I figured they would fry well or be mixed well. Sometimes one needs to follow their gut instincts a little bit.
Bean Fry Medley
Ingredients:
  • oil
  • green beans
  • red pepper
  • peanuts
  • onion
  • kosher salt
  • black pepper
Later ingredients:
  • margerine
  • Frank's Extra Hot

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. fry first 7 ingedients until brown

They were done way before the wings, so I popped them into tin foil and into the oven on low heat.

frying in the pan - looks colourful!

vegetables what? all I saw were wings on the plate

So tried this, but I was not feeling the flavour. I discovered to trust my instincts: beans are not my friends. Why must that which is good for you taste not good!?

I took the remaining wing sauce mixture from dinner and covered the remaining medley. I put it back in the fridge for the next day, hoping I would forget about it and never have it again.

But today, I had a very veggie lunch. I popped the veggie tinfoil medley with wing sauce back in the oven, roasted some corn on the George Foreman, and waited. The corn took forever due to unbalanced cooking on the smaller grill.

2 good things came of this. The veggie mix was really good the second time around with the hot sauce. Also, the corn, topped with dill and all dressed popcorn seasonings made for an excellent lunch. I guess the beans weren't so bad after all . . .
