Cuba Trip Meal 2017

Wow its been a long time since I posted on here! These are some of the meals from my Cuba trip at the end of 2017. Go HERE to see the wings I had . . . they were not good.

This was my saviour for most of the trip. Pasta made at the chef's pasta station. Over and over at lunch and dinner. Usually filled with onions, peppers, corn, pork, maybe beef or chicken.

One of the 'restaurants' at the resort was a Japanese restaurant. Our chef was pretty new and messed up a couple of times. Right now this fire is seafood he lit up. The whole show was to assemble fried rice. It was good, except for the seafood which was super fishy. One of the better meals still.

Inside that bun is a pork cutlet. In Cuba, nothing is as it seems. I thought it was fish, and I made some tartar sauce to have with it. Turns out it was pork, so I took a super fresh and tasty bun (one of the few bread products that tasted good) and made it into a sandwich with some sad fried. This too was a 'good' lunch.

Breakfast omelette. Filled with ham and two dry pieces of toast.

New Years Eve banquette. We were serenaded by a guitarist and singer who sang Spanish songs - super lovely. Great spread. This plate was lobster, bread, potato wedges, buns, rice and tasty salami and a seafood medley.

At a lunch cafe, my wife ordered chicken fingers . . . or what came was a chicken cutlet cut into slices. Oh Cuba!

Boston Pizza Secret Menu Event

Here's a few photos I didn't include in the original post:

Outside BP's entrance is this crazy hair . . . thing. Kathy was brave enough to pose with one of the crazy hair photos.

It's a flashy location. They have a a celebrity wall where they get the famous that come in to sign. They also have a cute little delivery truck in the lobby.

Some of the swag I got - here, a t-shirt with the BP logo.

a sample of the wings. Mmmmmmmmmm.

The residence, in all its glory. Artistically altered.

A student enjoying her wings. She wouldn't let me film, but a picture was ok.

Everybody waiting in line. Everyone HUNGRY for wings.

Appropriately themed decorations.

Nathan pointing out his wings on my plate. Doesn't that plate look so good?

AJ B-Day Fleetwood Bowling & Golf

Fun in the Forrest City! It wasn't my birthday, but I did have a lot of fun.

Birthday Girl getting ready for a strike!

Rick has those pins lined up.

B-Day girl again gets ready to knock some pins while Brad and Rick watch on. My flash distracted her and she had a gutter ball. Whoops!

Oh ya, the Wing King is a Bowling Pro!
What you can't see is my thumb which is dying because all the balls thumb holes are too small.

I didn't put in the name, but it sticks where ever I go!

Now that bowling is done, lets go glo-golfing!

Giant shark - watch out! A roaring gorrilla - this place has it all.

Ferocious tiger. It too growled. Unfortunately the skill-testing tunnel under his feet do
not make any difference in getting closer to the hole.

Dinosaurs! Raptor vs buck toothed triceratops - who ya got?

Giant Fish Mural - Shark Bite - Gator Guard

What a fun night! Happy Birthday AJ!!!

Saunder's Farm Haunting Continued

Pamphlet for the Farm. It runs all October long, but after Hallowe'en, it's all over! The night time is definitely busier than the day time for all the scares.

Map of Saunders Farm for the Night Activities. Highlights include:
  • Barn of Terror (a haunted house throughout a barn)
  • Field of Screams (outdoor haunted 'house' around a swamp) Very spooky!
  • Stage Shows (twiFright is the production, but we missed it)
  • aMAIZEing Corn Cannon
  • Haunted Hayride (my fave of the whole trip!)

Jack'o'Lanterns Carved and on Display.

The Haunted Pathway . . . ooooooooh! Watch out for 'scare-actors' roaming the park - they will get you . . .

Entrance to The Mile Maze.

I won't lie, we cheated in the maze and exiting.

The Middle - so close!

The Grapevine Maze, with trivia on Theseus. And grapes!

Another hedge maze.

And another hedge maze.

BUT BY NIGHT, SAUNDERS FARM TRANSFORMS INTO HELL's PLAYGROUND.

ADULTS ONLY

(I don't know if its adults only, but its waaay to scary for little ones)

The Haunted Hayride. This was a blast!

Here's a video on the Haunted Hayride:

The Hayride was awesome. Not only do you have the guys jumping out of the woods and some excellent displays and decorations, but half the fear comes from the tractor itself. The trailer you ride on is rickety, you sit on benches and there are no seat belts, and the tractor goes at top speeds, swinging around corners, through a flooded swamp. Your rocked around in the cold and I had to give it to the driver because one slip and it would be a REAL bloody mess. What a rush!

Blacklight decorations!
The Barn of Terror was fun too:

So was the Field of Screams:

Jack'o'lighterns?

Overall, this was a great early Hallowe'en outing. Dress warmly, it gets down right bitter. And bring cash. I also recommend getting advanced tickets to cut down costs. But do not, I repeat DO NOT get the VIP tickets for $40. I thought it was for two people, but it was per person, and the VIP access to parking and jumping lines would not have been worth it. Or the free drink.
